Le souhait et le regret
Le souhait
- « Wish + prétérit » = souhait irréalisable dans le présent
- « I wish I had enough money to travel / Women wish they earned as much as men. »
- « Wish + would / could » = souhait potentiellement réalisable dans le futur
- « I wish people would understand how serious climate change is. »
Le regret
- « Wish + past perfect »
- « People now wish they had taken better care of the environment. » (Les gens regrettent de ne pas s’être mieux occupés de l’environnement).
